A woman and her ex-boyfriend have been arrested for breaking into her grandparents' house and stealing a large amount of cash, borough police said. Brienna Lynn Duborgel, 21, Taylor, and Jason Michael Chuff, 25, Scranton, were charged with burglary, conspiracy, theft by unlawful taking and related crimes.

Sunday Night's Festival finale program included work by Brian Sanders' JUNK, Kat J. Sullivan, Kareem B. Coroner: 18-Year-Old Dead after Crash
Scranton teen dead after crash in Old Forge
An 18-year-old Scranton woman has died after a crash late last night in Old Forge, Lackawanna County Coroner Tim Rowland said. The teen, whose name is being withheld pending notification of her family, was involved in a motor vehicle crash on Sibley Avenue near the Taylor border, Mr. Rowland said.

Ex-Taylor councilman gets jail for voter fraud
Former Taylor councilman Eugene Gallagher was sentenced to a maximum of 10 months in jail and two months of house arrest Tuesday for two crimes stemming from a voter fraud incident. Mr. Gallagher, 35, was charged last year after he was accused of persuading Taylor residents and nonresidents to register for absentee ballots in the November 2013 election using a borough address.

Moosic man accused of propositioning 15-year-od
A Moosic man faces attempted statutory sexual assault and other charges after police said he provided a 15-year-old girl with alcohol and asked her to have sex after driving to a secluded area of Spring Brook Twp. Mr. Koytek offered the girl a ride home from the Price Chopper in Taylor on the evening of June 27 and later took her to Aston Mountain Road, where he gave her a mixed drink and propositioned her, police said.

A play which traces the unique musical career of a Wilkes-Barre born opera sensation will be staged Friday, Aug. 14, at Wyoming Seminary as a fundraiser for the Kingston Historical Society. The play, "Souvenir: A Fantasia on the Life of Florence Foster Jenkins," by Steven Temperley, is a fantasy comedy about the last 14 years of the life of opera singer Florence Foster Jenkins as seen through the eyes of Cosme McMoon, her long time accompanist.
Former Taylor Councilman Sentenced to Jail
A former Taylor borough councilman who admitted to a string of wrongdoings in Lackawanna County was in front of a judge Tuesday morning. Eugene Gallagher was sentenced to four months in jail on forgery charges, followed by two months of house arrest, one year of probation, and 200 hours of community service.

Attempted homicide charges against alleged kidnappers bound for court
Dayna Williams offered grisly testimony Thursday against the two men who allegedly slashed her throat and left her in the Bear Creek Township woods in October. Magisterial Judge Michael Dotzel bound all charges against Jerone Moore, 32, and Nygee Taylor, 25, including kidnapping and attempted homicide, over to the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas following a two-hour joint preliminary hearing.
