Keystone Sanitary Landfill has an exemplary 24-year compliance record with state regulators and was the first landfill in the U.S. to get a specific certification in recognition of environmental, operational and management excellence, a landfill consultant said at a public hearing on the landfill's proposed expansion. Hundreds of people packed Dunmore High School tonight for a public hearing where Keystone officials will offer a presentation on landfill owners Louis and Dominick DeNaples' plans for a design that would create space for nearly 50 years' worth of waste after the landfill's current permit ends.
